Outstanding Shelford occurs as village located to the south of Cambridge, in the county of Cambridgeshire, in eastern England.
These are better known when a house of the tykes's author Philippa Pearce, who renamed it "Great Barley" (by using a neighboring village of Little Shelford becoming "Little Barley", and Cambridge itself becoming "Castleford" & losing its university) inside her books, virtually all notably Phoxinus phoxinus on the Say (1955).
